Spring has Sprung!

   

  

                                     

It’s been awhile since we have updated this site-sorry about that!  Now that the warm weather is here to stay we have been keeping busy with many projects, racing the clock before the little one arrives!  Our current major project is getting our deck back in order.  We are in the process of stripping it down and refinishing it.  It took quite a beating over the winter months!  Well, 10 more weeks until baby boy Smedley arrives.  He’s getting so big and still kicking around lots.  The Dr. says everything is on track and looks great, hopefully the little guy will continue to hold out until after June 22, when I will be officially done with graduate school-yay!  Tomorrow is our “graduation”, basically where I just walk across the stage, but haven’t actually graduated yet because I still have 8 more weeks of my internship left-kind of “anticlimatic”.  Nonetheless, we’ll celebrate a bit tomorrow, more picutures to come after then!

Quick Update…

Devon is concentrating pretty hard on the laptop, probably looking at something like www.babiesrus.com or babycenter newsletters.  She is so darn cute even when she’s working hard!

Devon got back her glucose test results and it showed that everything was normal…that is great news!  Everything is on track and we’re happy that things are working out so well with her pregnancy.

It’s pretty late and I’m heading to bed, I got sucked into playing Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 on the PC.  Hope things are going well with you and would love to hear from you sometime.  You can leave us a comment or if you’re old fashioned shoot us an email at thesmedleys531@hotmail.com. It’s Saturday!

Well, it’s been a good day so far!  I’ve posted pictures of animals at the zoo in the picture section.  You can also click here.  I’ve found the zoo to be a relaxing place to go.  The last time that I was there, the male lion was roaring an awesome, loud, ‘I’m the King’ roar.

Devon went for her glucose screening and had to fast for 12 hours (she’s quite hungry, she usually eats every 2-3 hours) and then have blood drawn 4 times in a 3 hour period…not so fun.  We will get the test results Monday (probably.)

                                  

Tonight we’ve got a birthday party…my grandad will be 87 on Monday!  It will be good to get together with family and if a card game doesn’t get inspired I’ll be shocked.  My sister is also home for spring break, so I’ll get to hang with her.

 Not to mention, tomorrow is Easter!  Hope that you all enjoy time with your family and have a very Happy Easter!  I’ll have some more personal photos soon : )

Visitors!

This past weekend we got the chance to hang out with Brendon, Rachel, Hope and Mom.  It was great seeing everyone and I can’t believe how quickly Hope has grown.  She is such a cutie and is now crawling around all over the place.  They took a trip to the zoo and got to visit Discovery Sunday.  It was great having them, but went way too fast!

Good Times

This past Monday, Devon and I got to hang out with other Discovery staff members at the Chevalier’s house!  The 8 of us (Dan, Jill, Kent, Erica, Maddie, Kalea, Devon, and I) had a fun time asking each other ‘loaded questions’ from the board game Loaded Questions.  We got to eat really well (Erica made the best chesse cake I have ever had) and found out a ton about one another.  It is great to work alongside such great people.
