Lately I’ve been on a Soulharmonic kick, I’m really enjoying their music right now (literally and in general!). They are the band for Discovery that play at the Southside campus consistently. They will be playing for Liquid Sunday coming up in less than a week now! They are local to Pittsburgh and have played some shows at local Southside bars. I like their rock edge and thought provoking lyrics. You can check out their website by clicking the links. You can download sound clips of some of their stuff using iTunes podcast, use ‘discovery southside’ in your iTunes podcast search. Better yet, come and listen to them Sunday at the Rex Theater between 16th and 17th Street E. Carson!

PCTC update
February 26, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Well, PCTC was a great time! Thanks for thinking of us and praying for us. We got to experience some great things in the capital of PA. Not a lot had much to do with being in Harrisburg though (big surprise I know!) Of course sleeping arrangements, car rides, and late night conversations create great memories, jokes, and even some deep thoughts. Had some bad weather on the way home, but all in all a great weekend.![]()

PCTC
February 23, 2007 · 1 Comment
Some of you are reading this post right now really confused…what is PCTC? what is L2Seven? Why is Greg talking about this stuff? Well, of the very few answers that I have, these are some of them…PCTC is the Pennsylvania Christian Teen Convention (now you know why we abbreviate it!) L2Seven is the student ministry of Discovery Christian Church. Jason Bentsen heads this up for Discovery and is heavily involved in the students lives at our Cranberry Campus. I’m talking about this stuff because myself and 17 others (volunteers and youth) are headed to Harrisburg for a weekend conference (PCTC) for the weekend. It should be a great bonding time and I’m excited for the relationships that will be built and getting to connect up with CCV (Christ Church of the Valley) where Devon and I went to church in Philly. Pray for God to touch each of the lives represented at this convention. Got to run, but I’ll let you all know how it goes!

What a weekend!
February 20, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Well it sure was a packed weekend. Joe, Brad, and Marie joined Devon and I on Friday night. Joe left Philly and drove until 10 or so to get in while the rest of us were bowling it up at Fun Fest…which I must say was quite a good time. Marie took 1st in score during one game and I got 1st in the other, while Brad was a steady close 2nd for both games. On Saturday we took a trip out and about O’Hara Township looking for the perfect sledding hill. Notice our bundled up clothing! After trying a few spots up in RIDC park, we hit up O’Hara Elementary school and had a great time. We enjoyed some smoothies and a movie late in the evening. On Sunday it was a day of first getting stuck…Brad and Joe had to push my poor Civic out of the snow in the driveway and then the truck couldn’t get traction on the ice to pull the 24′ trailer out of its spot. Then it was church, board games, and a trip to the southside service. We were all ready to eat after that and I particularly enjoyed the pizza for dinner…I never pass up on a hot fresh pizza. Monday morning I caught some Need for Speed: Most Wanted with Joe and then it was off to work. Now we’re back into the grind and I’m ready for some rest! Isn’t it ironic the way that happens. Well, it was great hanging out and I’m ready to do it again sooner than later. I’ll just have to catch up on some rest between now and then!

Spoiled Already!
February 17, 2007 · 5 Comments
This past weekend we had my mom out to visit. She was able to attend our sonogram with us and discover the news of a new grandson! After our sonogram we all went over to Greg’s parents to celebrate the news and watch the sonogram video. Both Grandma’s wasted no time going straight to the stores to spoil the little guy with his first outfits. It was a good time! Greg was a bit excited about the new “4 wheelin” outfit, in hopes he might be able to take our guy out on his hopeful future 4 wheeler!

Valentine’s Day Ice
February 15, 2007 · Leave a Comment
These are just a few views of the snow and ice that we had when we woke up on Valentines day. The doors on the car were totally frozen shut and I had to crawl through the trunk and warm it up before I could open them. In addition to that, we had low voltage and no power at times through the morning. In figuring out what was going on, I discovered water in the basement floor outside the electrical box. We sucked up over five gallons of water with the shop vac and had to pour boiling water on the gutter downspouts to open them up for drainage. Hopefully we won’t have any more pictures like this to show you….![]()

Skiing at Seven Springs
February 12, 2007 · 6 Comments
Yesterday, Discovery took a trip up to Seven Springs and we had 40 people show up and take advantage of the group discount. It was a great time ‘Rocking down the Slopes.’ As you can see though, I did take one pretty nice spill and of course it was in a flatter area, not doing anything crazy. I guess I got a ski crossed and went flying! My skis and poles were elsewhere when I got up. I asked Rachel ‘Do you see my goggles?’ and she replied ‘They’re on your head!’ Well it was my goggles as the culprit for this eye bruise, but oh well. I guess this is just what I have to look forward to when I have my own son!

Proud Parents to be
February 10, 2007 · 6 Comments
Devon and I had our sonogram appointment this morning! What an exciting time this is. We were able to look at the baby from all different directions and never having done this before, it was pretty awesome. It was determined that we are officially having a baby boy and this makes dad really happy! The baby is very healthy, after looking at the fluids, heart, brain, lips, and taking measurements of everything we were even more excited. Mom is taking such good care of our baby inside there. We praise God for the health of baby and mom! So many more thoughts are in my mind, but this will be it for now. Feel free to comment and let us know what you think. We’ll keep you posted!

Home Improvements…Including a baby nursery
February 6, 2007 · 2 Comments
What happened to those warmer days! We bought a house that didn’t need anything done to it…at least that’s what we thought. That lasted for about 24 hours and now I know we won’t ever be done with projects. I think my dad got in a ‘told you so’ or two since moving in, but it’s great to have our own place. We had the two bedrooms painted before the moving truck even got here and haven’t stopped since. I was sick of the electrical work that went on for a good part of the summer and only got finished because of my dad’s long hours and perserverance. We added some insulation to the attic to try and keep some of the element out of the house. Most of the work has turned to cosmetic work since then and I have succesfully rearranged the office into the attic. We have removed the wallpaper from the bathroom and painted those walls, the living room which was unfurnished finally got furniture at Christmas time and now even the garage has some organization. Now we are in the process of getting the nursery ready! We have painted a chest of drawers that has been around since before I was born and we are getting ready to do the bookcases of my childhood. This is such an exciting time! Check out the inside of the house pictures and check back for updates on the nursery!

Colts Win Superbowl!
February 5, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Way to go Tony Dunjy. Peyton finally gets his ring and gets named MVP for the game. Taking a look at his passing stats not too shaby, just had an interception that was not good. There was screaming at the refs, but I guess that makes football what it is and I know that Peyton had such a good game because of the screaming from our couch. Our jouney group from Discovery watched the exciting game and ate some really good food. I know I had seconds of wings, pizza, nacho taco dip, and of course bannana cream pie!
